Throughout the year, students do many different types of projects in the lab focusing on various aspects of computer science such as digital citizenship, green screen, robotics, web design, coding and programming. Each lesson incorporates, not only the NC Computer Science standards and the Digital Learning Competencies, but also incorporates standards from the ELA, Math, and Science classrooms as well. Students learned how we can use the Internet to collaborate. They created FlipGrid videos explaining what they learned about Wild Turkeys on PebbleGo.
Students researched snow and Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley. They then created interactive programs using Scratch to teach their classmates what they learned.
Students learned the Javascript coding language and it to create animated interactive games.

Students researched Arctic Animals of their choice. After writing a script, using information they learned, the students created a news story using green screen technology and WeVideo video editor.
Students worked collaboratively to find tourist attractions in North Carolina. After researching the attractions, students created a Virtual Tour using Google Tour Creator that was published and presented to their peers in Google Expeditions.
Students learned how to create apps using Javascript. They then worked with partners to build apps about influential Hispanic people for Hispanic Heritage month.

In partners, students researched holidays in different countries. Using their information, they created Google Slide Presentations, which included a digital post card! Their final products were presented to peers and parents at the class Winter Celebration.
Students learned about Javascript and how it can be used to create shapes and images. Using Javascript, the students created various images of their choice and presented them to one another in a digital art show.
Students learned the HTML and CSS coding language. They then collaborated in Project Management Teams to complete an informational website on a chosen animal.
